This Privacy Policy sets out how the emilywheeler.co.uk blog uses and protects any information you give me when you use this website. Any information you via this blog will only be used in accordance with this privacy policy.

emilywheeler.co.uk is a personal blog, owned and operated by Emily Wheeler. By using this site, you are indicating your agreement to the terms of this privacy policy. If you disagree with any of the terms below, please do not use this site.
emilywheeler.co.uk reserves the right to alter the terms of this policy at any time. Changes will be notified to you using the e-mail address you provide to me (if you subscribed for emilywheeler.co.uk updates) or by an announcement on this site. This privacy notice aims to give you information on how we collect and process your personal data.

Your privacy is important to me. I am committed to protecting your privacy and will ensure that the information I obtain from you and use will always be processed and transferred in compliance with all applicable data protection laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). A copy of this policy is provided by link in the welcome email received by all subscribers to emilywheeler.co.uk and on the subscription pop-up.
The information I collect
This website is not intended for children and I do not knowingly collect data relating to children.
This policy applies to all information collected or submitted on this website. The types of personal information collected are:
1. Email Address
This is the email that you provide if you wish to receive the emilywheeler.co.uk newsletter.
This information is maintained in two places:
- On the blog by WordPress. I access this information via the WordPress dashboard only. I do not process your email further, do not download it and do not share it with any third party (e.g. with brands).
- On the mailing client Mailerlite.com. Mailerlite is GDPR compliant, I have full access to all data stored there and can enable deletion of a subscriber’s data should they so wish.
I will use your email address to email you the emilywheeler.co.uk newsletter which may contain direct or indirect marketing material (for example, posts about interiors products and brands and brand advertisements) and/or advertisement of services that emilywheeler.co.uk may offer from time to time.
When you subscribe to receive my newsletter, you consent to receiving this marketing information which forms part of my blog. If you do not wish to receive such marketing information, you should not subscribe to the newsletter. You can continue to use my website freely, without subscribing to the newsletter.
If you subscribed to my newsletter prior to the 4th May 2020, you will continue to receive it but I will provide an opportunity for you to unsubscribe – an ‘unsubscribe’ button is available at the bottom of all newsletters sent by emilywheeler.co.uk. You also have the right to have your data ‘forgotten’.
2. Your name
This is only in relation to comments on posts; this could be just a first name only (not identifiable data), first and last name, alias (not identifiable data) or initials (not identifiable data) and/or your email address. I do not process this data further and do not store it on my computer. This data is stored within the comments section of the WordPress blog. You may choose to not have your information stored when you leave a comment.
3. Technical Data
My website uses Google Analytics, a service which transmits website traffic data to Google servers in the United States. Google Analytics uses “cookies”, small text files placed on your computer, to collect standard internet log and visitor behaviour information in an anonymous form. Google Analytics does not identify personal information or individual users or associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.
I use reports provided by Google Analytics to help us understand website traffic and webpage usage. emilywheeler.co.uk does not hold or process this data – enquiries about processing of technical data should be addressed to Google.
Some of our advertising partners may use cookies and web beacons on our site. Each of these advertising partners has their own Privacy Policy for their site.
These third-party ad servers or ad networks use technology in their respective advertisements and links that appear on and which are sent directly to your browser. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. Other technologies (such as cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons) may also be used by our site’s third-party ad networks to measure the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and/or to personalize the advertising content that you see on the site.

4. Full name and postal address
This is in relation to competition winners. This data is submitted by email by winners and will be deleted within 10 days of receiving confirmation of receipt of the prize.
Legal Basis for processing your information
emilywheeler.co.uk is a personal blog on interior design. You do not have to subscribe to my newsletter in order to access emilywheeler.co.uk but have indicated (where you have subscribed) that you are interested in receiving regular updates from me. I therefore have your consent in supplying you these regular communications. You can unsubscribe at any time.

You have a right to access the personal data emilywheeler.co.uk holds about you. If you wish to obtain a copy of this information, please write to me.
